Operating Your Own Power Plant

OUR PERSPECTIVE

Operating Your Own Power Plant

We like to say that by investing in solar, you are getting into the power generation business. That sounds like a daunting task, but with the right solar partner and mindset, the rewards are well worth it.
CONSIDERATIONS IN OPERATING A POWER PLANT

Have a long-term plan. Before moving forward with the solar project, think about how your energy requirements may evolve and how solar will fit into your long-term vision.

You are in control. Energy independence makes your operating costs more predictable and gives you flexibility in how you run your business. The more you know about your energy usage, your system and the energy and technology options available, the more you can make smart decisions to maximize your investment.

Don’t just set it and forget it. While solar plants do not require much ongoing maintenance, output should be monitored on a regular basis to make sure everything is performing as expected. Just like your car or HVAC, you (or REC Solar) should do regular checkups to make sure your plant is operating optimally.
