The solar array on the Grants Pass School District Seven Bus Depot is almost complete and the project means revenue for the district and clean energy for the Rogue Valley.

In Oct. 2011, the District Seven Board entered into an agreement with Kenyon Energy to install the solar array in order to qualify for the Oregon Solar Incentive Program grant. The district is leasing the space on the roof to Kenyon for 15 years, for which the district receives a $5,000 annual stipend for. At the end of the 15-year contract, the district will own the array.

REC Solar is building the array for Kenyon, which involves 429 polycrystalline panels covering approximately 12,000-square feet of the bus depot’s roof.
