REC Solar is on hand for the 45th World Agricultural Expo in Tulare, Calif.

REC Solar Director of Business Ryan Park said that while growers may be interested in farming solar power, most still are just interested in creating power for their own needs.

One recent REC Solar installation at a cold storage facility in Delano reduced its energy costs by 80%, he said.

Park said he is seeing growing interest among farmers wanting solar on their farms, especially as some lenders, including Rabobank, are offering financing.

"For the farmers who were early adopters of solar, the systems have worked really well," Park said. "Now those farmers who were skeptics are coming to us in waves."
