The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission has approved a 20-year power purchase agreement between the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative and REC Solar for its 300-kilowatt MP2 Hawaii Solar Project in Koloa on the Garden Isle’s South Shore.

The PUC found that the purchased-energy charges to be paid by KIUC are “reasonable.”

Drew Bradley, Hawaii regional manager for REC Solar, previously told PBN that once the PUC approved a power purchase agreement for MP2, it would move up the rankings.
