REC Solar was selected for the installation of a ground mounted solar electric system at the Dole Plantation, immediately adjacent to their visitor center and Pineapple Express Railroad. Since the completion of this project in 2013, Dole has continued its sustainability efforts by installing an additional 461kW of solar panels at their fruit processing facility.
Hawaii & California 1.1 MW total
REC Solar was awarded EPC contracts for solar photovoltaic systems at four Safeway stores located in Hawaii and California. These roof-mounted systems utilize Suntech panels and Advanced Energy inverters, and produce approximately 1,300,000 kWh of energy per year.
Kamuela, Hawaii 174 kW
REC Solar installed two rooftop projects at the W.M. Keck Observatory at the top of Mauna Kea. The solar electric systems are lowering the facility’s operational costs to support the world’s two largest optical and infrared telescopes. "REC Solar met our high quality standards in both the design and the installation of our system,” said Observatory spokesman Steve Jefferson.
CVS/Longs Drug Store
Kauai, Pearl City | HAWAII 205 kW
In 2008, Longs Drug Store, now CVS, procured solar for multiple sites in Hawaii. REC Solar was awarded and has now completed two solar photovoltaic systems on the islands. These projects are part of CVS' plan to integrate solar into their corporate approach toward renewable energy.
Kapolei Inline Hockey Arena
Kapolei | Hawaii 257 kW
Our Hawaii team worked with Kapolei Inline Hockey Arenas to install a roof-mounted system that includes two Xantrex GT100 grid-tied inverters and 1,170 REC Group 220 watt multi-crystalline modules. Revenue Grade production metering and real time system monitoring were achieved with an Energy Recommerce system.
