In July 2009, the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) released RFQ’s for turnkey solar PV systems at 19 VA Medical Center sites totaling in nearly 13 MWs of renewable energy generation. REC Solar was awarded 8 sites and 2 MWs of this portfolio. Construction on these sites will be completed by December of 2010.

In the spring of 2010, the VA began releasing additional RFQs and in May 2010, REC Solar was awarded an additional 2.9 MW site in Tucson, Arizona. In September 2010, REC Solar was awarded an additional 6 sites totaling an additional 7 MWs.
