Project Details

The Department of Veterans Affairs competitively awarded REC Solar two separate contracts to furnish turnkey solar electric systems to the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System. The first project consisted of a 301.8 kW single-axis tracker, the first of its kind to be installed at any VA facility. The second project provided a 2.9 MW carport-mounted system covering approximately 1,100 of the 1,700 parking spaces in this desert climate. The aggregate system will be the second-largest commercial scale solar array on the utility grid, providing over 18% of the facility’s power requirements.
