REC Solar installed this system in conjunction with an upgrade to the facility’s biogas/natural gas electric cogeneration system. The combined facilities produce 100% of the waste water treatment plant’s power. This system was designed to be integrated into the tank structures. REC designed for tank usability and system durability in a highly corrosive environment. The system provided a public relations benefit to the city by demonstrating its dedication to protecting the environment.

This system was designed with (420) Astropower 120-watt panels and (18) SMA 2500-watt inverters. It generates 83,600 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
