Paul Winnowski , Chief Executive Officer

Paul Winnowski is the Chief Executive Officer for Mainstream Energy and its subsidiaries REC Solar, AEE Solar and SnapNRack.

Paul brings 20-plus years of experience at the helm of large corporations in highly-competitive markets. He previously served as President of United Technologies Fire & Security in North Europe & South Africa, where he was responsible for well over $1Bn in sales and more than 13,000 employees.

Prior to this, he managed UTC’s Fire & Security business in Asia with over $500M in sales and 4,000 employees. Winnowski also held a number of leadership roles at General Electric, where he built GE Security’s business in China and Asia, and began his career scaling a private company from $30M to $650M in revenues, ultimately leading to acquisition by GE.

Dave Morosoli, Vice President and General Manager, Commercial Business

David Morosoli is Vice President and General Manager of the commercial business unit for REC Solar, a subsidiary of Mainstream Energy. In his current role he is responsible for P&L, business development and setting the strategic direction of the business unit.

Prior to joining REC Solar, David was Vice President of Operations and sales for PetersenDean Roofing and Solar. Before that, he spent 15 years in various senior management positions in the computer and electronics industry including Applied Materials, Sanmina SCI and CoorsTek. David holds a BS in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University with a minor in Military Science. Additionally, David is a retired captain in the United States Army.
An outdoor enthusiast, David is thrilled to be in an industry that benefits the environment. Additionally, David has witnessed job losses to low cost manufacturing regions in high tech industries, and is excited to actualize the enormous domestic job creation potential of the US solar industry. 

Ethan Miller, Vice President and General Manager, Regional Business

Ethan Miller is Vice President and General Manager of the Regional Business. He is responsible for overseeing the bottom-line success of the national residential and light commercial businesses. Functional responsibilities include sales, marketing, engineering, construction and customer service.

Prior to this position, Ethan was Vice President of Operations, where he managed all construction, engineering and supply chain activities for AEE Solar and REC Solar. This included responsibility for successfully installation of over 10,000 residential, commercial, government, and utility solar electric systems. In addition, Ethan was responsible for the development of SnapNRack module mounting solutions, with over 100 megawatts now deployed.

As REC Solar’s third employee and a solar industry veteran of eleven years, Ethan has played an active role in the rapid evolution of the solar industry. Prior to joining the company, Ethan was employed at Pacific Gas & Electric, one of the country’s largest and most progressive utilities, where he worked as a quality engineer at a 2.5GW nuclear power plant. He frequently speaks at industry conferences on topics such as risk mitigation in utility projects, operational excellence and efficiency. Ethan has a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in renewable energy from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is the company’s general engineering contractor with a Class A license, drives a clean diesel car and enjoys taking full advantage of California’s natural splendor through mountain biking, surfing and camping.

During his university studies, Ethan developed a strong interest in power engineering. His education lead him to believe that there was a better way to generate energy than the typical technologies accepted by industry and his employment at one of the nation’s largest nuclear power facilities solidified this belief. Ethan believes that through continued scaling of solar energy, we can reach his vision of a more intelligent and renewable power grid.

Michelle Berlin, Human Resources Director

Michelle Berlin leads the Human Resources function for Mainstream Energy and its subsidiaries, REC Solar and AEE Solar. She has responsibility for day-to-day operations and strategic direction of Human Resources.

Michelle’s experience includes work with a variety of industries and companies, including Patagonia, Amgen, and Newport Corporation, a telecommunications manufacturing company. After these corporate experiences, she started her own Human Resources consulting business which she left to join Mainstream Energy in 2011. During her career she has provided the full range of Human Resources services, from talent acquisition to change management to operations.

Michelle is one of many Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduates at Mainstream Energy. She received her degree in Human Development which influenced her choice to pursue a career in Human Resources. She participates in several non-profit organizations and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She is also dedicated to leaving her environment better than she found it, and working for Mainstream Energy allows her to contribute to a company’s success that aligns with these values.

Ken Ambur, General Counsel

Ken Ambur is the General Counsel for Mainstream Energy and its subsidiaries, REC Solar and AEE Solar. He is responsible for advising the board and executive management team, leading the law department and overall risk management.

With 13 years in the energy industry, Ken is passionate about using his business and legal expertise to help Mainstream Energy grow and thrive. He contributes to Mainstream’s overall business strategy, using law as a tool to help them do business in a smart way. Prior to Mainstream, Ken was General Counsel for NAES Corporation in Issaquah, WA, where he led negotiations for commercial agreements, managed technology licensing and directed complex transaction documentation.

Ken holds a JD from the University of Washington School of Law and a BA in Political Science from the University of Washington. He is an accomplished mountaineer, and credits leading mountain climbing trips for beginners as a key to sharpening his leadership skills.
